LONDON MARKETS.
(by telegraph.) Wellington, December 14. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report, under date London, December 11, as follows :
The wool sales closed at the level of last sales on the 11th, the scoured market being unchanged. Superior scoured has advanced £d to Id per lb. The greasy market is unchanged. In clothing washed, combing washed, and fine cross-bred the market is firmer, but coarse cross-bred has deolined Id to l£d per lb. The merino and lambs market is firmer. A good many secondhand parcels have been offered during the past sales. The sales comprised about 114,000 bales. 16,000 bales have been held over for future disposal, consisting chiefly of Cape of Good Hope wools; 50,000 bales have been taken for export. Tallow is in fair demand, best mutton being worth L 35, and best beef L 33 per ton. Yesterday's public sales of Australian comprised 3000 casks. Stocks of all sorts are 14,000 packages. The Bank of England rate is 8 per cent.
