Grahamstown, November 25.
The Star pigeongrams state that the Te Arolia goldfield wfcs op used b.y Mr. Kenrick at nine o'clock this morning by reading the proclamai ion. Guns were fired a? he said God save the Queen," and the 3QO men who h;id assembled on the prospectors olfiiru commenced pegging out claims. Tnere was no quarrelling. Immediately after the pegging out, the Warden took down the names and inspected the miners' rights. M'lntyre's party got a cap of the reef on their ground, but it will- be difficult to tell who will get it. The following have claims ; —Oorult, Murphy, Wickham and Whitaker, Reuben, Parr, Ferguson and M'lntyre, and R. M C D. Scott.
