ANOTHER CLAIMANT.
(BY TELEGRAPH.) Napiee, September 19. . A claimant has arisen to a number of valuable sections in Hastings in the person of the Hon. P. S. Solomon,,, lately appointed Aeting-Attp.raey-General for Fiji. It appear that years ago, Mr. Solomon, who was afterwards practising as a solicitor at Sydney, bought those two sections and gave a power of attorney to Mr. Charles Davis to act for him, but it is that the power of attorney gs,?£ '4lO authority to sell. Mr. Jpiayis did' sell the. sections, and they subsequently passed through many hands, and ; are now in the possession of Mrs. Adamson, Messrs. Ryes. J. Mfonteith, H. Monteith, G. AVilliams, and Q. Scott. The ||ank o.f Zealand is acting for Mr. Solomon, and Mr. Lascelles hag been instructed to take proceedings to reoover the property, My. Solomon, at about the time he purchased the sections, was in partnership with Mr. Fletcher as millowners at Mongouui and Auckland. The land was bought in their joint names, apparently as a partnership transaction, and when the sections were sold, about the conveyances were signed by Mr. Fletcher for himself and by Mr. Davis for Mr. Solomon.
