The local Secretary for the Sydney International Exhibition (Mr. J. T. Evans) has just brought from Dunedin the medals and certificates awarded by the judges to local exhibitors. They are as follow :—First degree of merit for prime short and black Tartarian oats (certificate of merit, with medal) —Messrs. J. and T. Meek; second degree of merit for Danish oats (highly commended certificate) —Messrs. J. and T. First degree of merit for building stone, light and easily worked, (certificate and medal), Oamaru Stone and Export Company. The certificate consists of a steel-plate engraving, both unique and handsome in design, and was exeouted by the American Bank Note Company. It is surrounded by symbols of every important industry, outside of which is a neat border. At the top appears, in all its glory, the British Crown, and at the bottom, amidst, we presume, female representatives of the nations of the earth, who are assembled upon and around the globe, is a lion couehant, and a representation of the International Exhibition Building. As a back-ground to portion of the certificate, thevfc are shadowy representations of portions of the City of Sydney. The centre part, containing the matter, is quite American in character. The medals are in copper, by Wyon, of London. On the fags ia a representation of the Exhibition building, in the foreground of which is a nymph-like figure in a light, airy costume, representing, we suppose, New South Wales, with a host of emblems representing the arts, sciences, and manufactures at her feet. This is surrounded by the motto, " Orta regent qitwrbjpura. nites." On the obverse side ia a beautiful wreath representing the sora of New South Wales. *
