THE RAILWAY EMPLOYES AND THE REDUCTION OF PAY.

A large meeting of railway employes last night appointed deputations to Mr. Conycrs ami to the C'hristclmrch meeting to-morrow. It carried the following resolution : —"That this meeting strongly protects against any reduction on the ground that the wages men are not blameable for the alleged • xtravacranee. was to. and reckless expenditure of the dirlu'ent departments laid to their charge •v the Civil Service Commission, and. in the na:tie of common justice, demands that the innocent shall not sutler." At a meeting of railway employes a telegram was read from Dtmeilin. asking their co-operation in resisting tlie proposed 10 per cent, reduction in wages. It was resolved zo reply that the employes here have already decidrd to resist the reduction. It was also decided to hold a mass meeting on the subject to-morrow.
