TERRIBLE BRITISH DISASTER. A BRIGADE ANNIHILATED BY AYOOB KHAN. (REUEER'S TELEfiRAJI PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) London, July 28. In the House of Commons to-day the Marquis of Harrington, Secretary of State for India, announced that he had received telegraphic information from India that a terrible disaster had befallen General Burrows' brigade in Candahar. According to the telegrani the British force has been completely annihilated by the native tribes under Ayoub Khan. No further details have yet been received.

FULLER PARTICULARS, Calcutta, July 29. Further details have oome to hand regarding the disaster at Candahar. General Burrows' brigade, numbering 3000, v-as attacked by Avoub Khan's forces, 12,000 strong. They lost two sjans, and, being out-numbered, fled. Thny were pursued fur three miles, and became straggling, arriving in dribbles at Candahar, where General Primrose, with a force of 2000 men took refuge in the citadel. The wires were cut by the enemy, which prevented their sending for reinforcements. Generals Phayne and Sandeman are now concentrating their forces on the Bolan Pass.

It is reported from Afghanistan that, in consequence of the hostile attitude of Yakoub Khan's adherents at Ghuznee, the evacuation of Cabul by British troops will probably now be deferred. London, July 29. The disaster to the British troops in Candahar has caused great sensation here, and it is stated that at a Cabinet Council held yesterday, it was decided to despatch further troops to India as reinforcements for Afghanistan.
