There "was rib dissent to the Bill. ■ - / The report of - the Government Insurance Department for the past year shows that, despite the financial depressioii, very great progress has been made. Over 3000 proposals were received far Sums Aggregating more that a million, and of these about 2200 became policies, representing over L 72,000. . The new premiums show a considerable increase on those of last year. the., total exceeding L27',000.
