: —* Grahamstown, July 15. At 3. meeting called for last night by circular, and largely and influentially attended, to consider what steps shotjld be taken with reference to the petition for the removal of the Resident Magistrate, now before the House, the following lutions were carried unanimously ; 1. That this meeting has entire confidence in Mr. Kcnrick as Resident Magistrate for this district, and desires to testify to the strict impartiality which has distinguished his. judicial proceedings; and . that this meeting endorses the opinion expressed at a meeting of Justices previously held. 2. That it 1 is- the opinion of this preliminary meeting that an opportunity should be given to the whole of the Thames male adult population to express their entire confidence in the honorable and .equitable justice manifested in the decisions given by Henry Kenrick, Esq., their present Magistrate; further, that tliis opportunity should be given by calling a public meeting for the purpose at an oaily date.
