John Bulleid, on the information of Serjeant Beatty, wa3 charged under the Employment of Females Act with having employed two girls after the hoar of 6 /> p.m. on the 16th Jane. As this wa3 the ~ tint offence, and it wa3 shown that Mr. Bulleid had always been very particular in dismissing hi 3 employes at the proper hour, the nominal penalty of 203 was inflicted. Messrs. Barracloagh and "Walsh, for > neglecting to keep a light burning from \ sunset to sunrise near a hole in jßeedatreat, was fined 20s. _ s< Joseph Jenkins received the following p cumulative sentences for the respective offences charged against him :—For being drunk and disorderly at the railway station H days imprisonment with hard labor; far obscene language, 14 days with the option of paying a fine of L 3; for assault- 7f ing Constable Christie, 21 days. -
