The cricket match between the Australians .md eighteen of was continued to-day. The Australians in their first innings scored 222 runs. Murdoch was out, leg-before-wicket, for 117 runs.
The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 1,650.000 quarters. The market rate for discount is below bank rates.
The total stock of tallow in London on the Ist inst. was 106,000 casks. In the House of Commons last night, the resolution, introduced by the Government, in favor of permitting members to make an affirmation instead of the customary oath of allegiance, was under discussion and debated at some length, and finally agreed to by the House on a division, by a majority of 54 votes.^ July 3. Mr. Bradlaugh has taken his seat in the House of Commons.
Colonel Sandford represents the Royal Commission to the Melbourne Exhibition, and starts on the 21st inst.
Consols are at 9S£. New Zealand securities are quoted as follow :—Five per cent. 10-40 loan, 104-i- ; five per cent. 1879 loan, 104 ; four and' a half per cent. 1879-1904 loan, 99?. New Zealand wheat is selling, ex ship, at 47s : Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, at 47s 6d. Adelaide flour is quoted at. ex warehouse, 365.
For Australian tallow the quotations are ; —Best beef, 33s Gd ; best miitton, 355.
The cricket match between t.h.e Australian Eleven and Eighteen <>f Newcastle-on-Tyne was resumed and concluded today. The Home team being 105 behind their opponents went ip for their second innings, and making a good stand, were not disposed of until their score had reached 202 runs. The Australians then, with 96 runs to make to win the match, went in for their second innings, but want of time prevented the completion of the match, and when the stumps were drawn they had scored 5S runs for the loss of four wickets. The match was therefore drawn, the Australians requiring 38 runs to win, and haying six wickets to fall. An action has been brought in the Queen's Bench division of ths High Court of Justice against Mr. Bradlaugli, to test the legality of the permission granted to him by the House of Commons to make an affirmation instead of the customary oath.

The Bill introduced by the French Government for granting p. plenary amnesty to Communists is founded on the resolution recently passed in. the Chambe? of Deputies, It came under discussion in the Senate to.-d.iy. Ihe measure_ as itstood was rejected by a small majority, but an amended Bill was subsequently passed granting an amnesty to all Communists. except those guilty of assassination or incendiarism.

Authentic intelligence has been received thq.t Ayoub Khan, Governor of Herat, jviio for some time past has been supposed to b.e making jvarlike preparations to wrest Candahar from Shera Ali, the no* ly appointed ruler of that province, has rid?/ actually left Herat, and marched southwards with a considerable force to Ferrah. a place about 2oG miles from the city of Candahar. in consequence of this information, a British column has been despatched from Candahar to Girislik, on the road to Ferrah, to support lYali Mahomed, who commands the Candahar tribes, and is preparing to resist the advance of Ayoub Khan.

The New South Wales revenue returns for the last quarter were published to- day. They show the revenue to hj; bcsn LI, 176,000, an increase of LllOO compared with last year. The balance at credit of the consolidated revenue on 30tli June was L 2,048,000. Adelaide, July 3.
The South Australian revenue returns were published to-day. They show that the revenue of last quarter amounted to LDi'/.GQG, being an increase of L 146.000 compared with y.sar. The revenue for the year ended 30' th June amounted to L 1,820,000. C'ooktowx, July 5.
The mail steamer Bowen brings news of the arrival of the New Ireland colonising steamship Genie at Singapore on the 7th June. She had three feet of water in lier hold, ajid her engineers had deserted her.
