The note further Btates that the Great Powers will insist op the strict execution of the Treaty cf Berlin by Turkey. The Sultan has not yet replied to the note. Calcutta, June 12.
The report which was recently circulated to the effect that Ayoub Khan was making warlike preparations to wrest Candahar from the descendants Shere Ali is now confirmed. The latest intelligence from Afghanistan, however, states that owing to defections from his supporters, Ayoub Khan's movements fraye now totally collapsed.
