KAKANUI DRAMATIC CLUB.
The members of the above Club gave a highly .successful performance last evening, the programme comprising " To Paris and Back for L 5 " and " Found in aFourwheeler." In the first pjece, Messrs.; Algie, Frier, and Davis played with great animation ; in fact, the success of the piece was mainly due to the efforts of these gentlemen. In the after-piece, Messrs. Algie, Thomson, St. John, and Miss Montague all played well, and were loudly applauded. We must not forget the scenery, which was very well painted, but would have been segn to more advan? tage upon a larger stage. The dance which followed would have been more enjoyable had not a little of the larrikin element crept in. It is to be hoped that in future the Club will try and prevent such unpleasant innovations. The Club intend at an early date producing the well-known play " Peep-show Man."
