In reply to a deputation of farmers, asking that the policy of Protection should be adopted against admitting Ngw Zealand grain into Victoria, the Hon. Mr. Seryiee offered np enequr&ger ment that anything of that nature word be supplied by the Government. May 6. Mauritius advices to the 20th April reports inferior sugar lower in pripe, and a poor crop is expected. 1400 tons have cleared for Australia, and 200 for New Zealand. Messrs.
