The Customs revenue for the week ending to-day was L 257 H>s I<l. THE LABOR MARKET. Mr. Henry Macintosh reports for the week ending Ist May. as follows: There has been a steady business during the week, wages being fair when compared with the price of produce. Female servants and hotel assistants are in good demand. Wages Day labor, 6s to 8s ; ploughmen, LSO and L 52 ; shepherds, L6O ; couples, L 65 to L 75 ; girls, 10a, 12s, to 143 ; upjver do, 15s to 20s : boys, 7s to 12s ; shopmen and clerks, 30s to 50b ; message boys, 5s to 10s ; cooks, boots, waiters, grooms, etc., 20s to 30s; female cooks, barmaids, and housekeepers, 20s to 40b. AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS. Men- Fleming and Hedley report the 0 f allotments 8, 9. 10, 11, township of Meadow Bank, at the following prices :—B, L 205, J. H. Milligan; 9, L 205, J. H. Milligan ; 10, L 205, Charles Days ; 11, L2OO, Charles Days. The remaining sections are now open for sale daring next week. Mr. A- Maude reports that he held a sale on Friday, 30th ultimo, at Schluter's yards, Boundary Creek, of horses and cattle, on account of the trustees in the estate of Mr. G. A. Harris. The attendance was small, bot most of those present were buyers, and both horses and cattle realised good prices, considering the quality, which was very inferior. He also reports having held a sale of suburban allotments and town sections at his stores to-day, at which there was a good attendance, but the bidding was very slack. The following freeholds were sold, viz. : Allotment 1 in sub-division of part of section 1, block 1., Oamarn District, lS'op., L 43; allotment 2, JS - 5p., L 43 ; allotment 3, 18'3p., L 3 3; allotment 7, 15.5 p., LSO; allotment 12, 11 "2p., L 37 ; allotment 13, 13.7 p., L 37 ; allotment 14, 13"7 p., L 37. Section 5, block LXX., Oamaru Town, was knocked down for the sum of L9O. Section 2, block 70, was passed in, the bidding not reach ing owner's reserve. Allotments in sub-division of section 1, block 1, Oamarn District, 4 to 6 and S to 11, were passed in, but as there is a good enquiry will probably be qnitttd privately at higher lates than those sold at auction. After the properties a lot of furniture, etc., waa submitted, for which the competition waa brisk, and good prices were realised. ♦ DIJNEDIN. [by telegraph. I April 30.
