RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
THIS DAY. (Before T. W. Parker, Esq., B-.M.) DRUNKENNESS.
Joseph.lreland, for having been drunk and disorderly, was ordered to pay a fine of 5s or go to gaol for 24 hours.. Leo Gaudan was charged with having been drunk and' disorderly, and was fined 10s, with the alternative of 48 hours' imprisonment. HABITUAL DRUNKENNESS. Patrick M Cusker, charged with being an habitual drunkard, was sentenced to nine weeks' imprisonment in Dunedin Gaol with hard labor. LARCENY. John Straughan, charged with having, on the 17th November, 1877) stolen a silver hunting lever watch of the value of L 9 from one Joseph Dondall, was brought up for judgment. j His Worship committed the accused to j take his trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court at Dunedin.
