HARBOR BOARD.

The fortnightly meeting of the Harbor Board was held, to-day, when there were present—Messrs. Gibbs (in the chair, in the unavoidable absence of the Chairman), Shrimski, Borrie, Hassell, and the Hon. M. J. Miller. The minutes of the last meeting having been read and confirmed, the report or the Standing Committee, recommending that an intimation be given to certain applicants for permission to reside on the beach that no exception could be made, and that the orders of the police for the removal of all " squatters" must be oarried out, was read and adopted. Correspondence was read relative to leasing the light-house reserve on the Cape, and it was resolved to ?eply that the Board could not at. present give a lease of the tepdi and: the Secretary was instructed to write to the Government with reference to the matter. Some matters of finance were then considered, amongst the number being a telegram stating that the sum paid as a year's rent in advance for the Board's endowment would be placed to the credit of the Board. Some discussion took place with reference to the lightering of the barque Elizabeth, and it was arranged to lighter a few tons of coal, to enable the vessel to come to the wharf. The Board than rose.
