The Bishop of Sydney and the members of the Church of England have petitioned against the Public Instruction Bill, which passed its third reading by 40 to 9. The Mayor's of the suburban municipalities have resolved to support the Tramways'Bill. . : *■-•""' Melbourne, February 25. An open air Liberal meeting was attended by 7000. Mr. Berry and Sir B. O'Loughlin were the only Ministers present. '. ; '* ' 'y i : Cape Town, February 6. Sir Garnet Wolseley is at Maritzbnrg arranging a constitution for Natal and Pretoria on a liberal basis. The Legislative Council of Natal is discussing the question of the Home Government granting responsible Government.
