HIGH SCHOOL CADETS' PICNIC.

The High School Cadets, in fair muster for vacation time, had an excellent, day's outing yesterday in the form of a picnic and ' sports. Consolation Race—R. M'Kenzie, 1; D. Main, 2 ; J. H. Evans,' 3. The sports concluded, the corps was refreshed with buns, tarts, and a plentiful supply of good milk. When all were in readiness for a return, the Cadets, on the call of the captain, gave three hearty cheers for Mr. and Mrs./ Elder. Mr. Elder briefly replied, thanking the Company for the visit. The Cadets returned to Oamaru about 8 o'clock, wearied with enjoyment. At the station cheers were given for the captain and his officers. V
