The "\Yaitaki Jockey Club was again favored with fine weather for the races, though a strong wind was blowing. The attendance was again good but, if anything, smaller than yesterday. Te Wheru (Allen) 1 llobin Hood (Clifton) 2 Little John (Robinson) 3 Loyalty and Romance also ran. Black Prince was scratched. Betting— *- to ion Te Whetu. After one false start, the lot were sent away well together. Robin Hood led over tin;'first hurdle, fuliowed by Loj'.alty and K'unaiice. Little John lying last. Before reaching the second hurdio Loyalty had taken ih .v place, Robin Hood and Romance coming next, with Te Whetu creeping up. Pinfire, Blue Peter, York, Unknown, and Libeller were scratched. The trio were sent away to a fair start. Chancellor cut out the running, Maritana coming next, and Rangatira, hard held, third. This order was maintained until the first mile had boon traversed, when Maritana went up ;•;•! tn,L iho lead. A quarter of a mile further, on Rangatira closed up to .Maritana, when Chancellor fell back beaten. Turning into the straight. Marihma drew away from Rangatira, and won a good race, hands down, though the whip was applied to Rangatira. Time 3 min. 14ch sees. SHEPHEKD'S EACE. This race brought three horses to the post. A good race took place between Ringleader and Bella. The former was fullest of running, and won easily. CH AMI'AfiXE sSTAKKS. York (Goodman) 1 Pinfire (Lyford) 2 Libeller (Clifford) 3 Unknown also ran. To Whetu, Maritana, Black Prince. Little John, Chancellor, and Robin Hood were scratched. Pintire was a bit of a favorite, o to 1 being laid against York. Goodman at once went to the front with York, and was never headed, though Libeller and Pinfire struggled hard in the last quarter-of-a-mile to get up to him. It was a capital race.
