At the Police Court to-day, a lad named Robert M ; Carrigan, for endeavoring to pass a sham half-sovereign, was sentenced to two hours' imprisonment and fouv years' confinement in the Industrial •School. There is nothing new regarding the fire enquiry. A sharp discussion to-day occnr.ou between Mr. Denniston and Mr. Watt, the latter having twice ordered the counsel for 'he defence to sit down.
