[from ode ow.v correspondent.] London, September 8. The present cash quotations for Australian copper are from L(54 to LGS. Foreign arrivals of wheat are very large. The present quotations are from 49s to 50s per quarter. Prices for wool continue without noticeable alteration. At to-day's sales, 6G03 bales were sold. Sydney, September 10. Fearful gales are raging, and rains and floods are probable. The opening of the Exhibition is postponed. Great numbers have arrived for the Exhibition. The Anglican Bishop Barker declares strongly in support of the Roman Catholic Bishop Vaughan in favor of religious education. Wheat sells at 5s 3d. New Zealand potatoes sell readily at LG 10s. To-day is the anniversary of the Dandenong disaster. The storm continues. Fears are entertained for the safety of the steamer Tasmanian. The steamer Esk is making for port now, but is unsighted.
