PARLIAMENT.
TO-DAY'S SITTING. Wellington, August 11. The House of Representatives met at noon to-day. A number of petitions were presented. The Speaker announced the Governor's assent to the Appropriation and other Bills which were passeed during the session. The House then adjourned till one, when the prorogation will take place. Later. Parliament was prorogued at 1 o'clock by a Commission, consisting of Sir William Fitzherbert, Colonel Whitmore, and Sir P. D. Bell. The formal prorogation is to the Ist of September.
