A numerously attended meeting of persons favorable to the present Government . was held this evening at Johnstons Hotel, Esk-street, to take steps to conserve party interests, and also to select a candidate to represent them in the next ■ Parliament. There was an earnest discussion, and Mr. Fehlwick, iho present member, was mentioned.
