One case was taken as a test case, but it was adjourned sine die, a point being raised as to whether the by-law was not vHm vires. The magistrate 13 taking time to decide the point. A cattle dealer between Grcymouth and Ciiriatehiirch, named Flo wors. was arrested at liaiigiora to-day cliaiged \utli larceny as a bailee of 54 head of cattle of tilt: value of L2CO, the property of John Davis, of Christchurch.
