(fboh our own cobkespondents.) DUNEDIN. July 5. The sale of the Henley Estate attracted a large attendance. A great many sections were sold, nothing being passed. Ten farms, averaging about 180 acres, realised from L 8 to Lls per acre, the largest price being Ll9 for small freehold farms. The principal purchasers were E. B. Cargill, James Shand, John Roberts, and Donald. The New Zealand Company has paid the policy on the books, and given the Athenaeum Committee the salvage. CHEISTCHUKCH. July 5. At the inquest on the body of Mr. Barnes, surveyor, who died from the effects of injuries received by a fall from his horse, a verdict of accidental death was returned. The Timaru and Oamaru portions of the San Francisco mail leave Christchurch to-night by a special train.
