Hawera, July 3. Ploughing is again postponed until Monday. Titokowaru strongly advocates ploughing, but will not come himself. ° ° Later. The Maoris chose a grass plot surrounded by bush. Three ploughs were quickly going the rounds. Three Maoris were setting potatoes, one woman cooking potatoes, and Te Ika superintending operations. Roberts, iToakes, Brown, and Constable proceeded to Norman by, and the Hawera Troopers formed themselves into a covering party. Everything was ready for any .emergency. . The natives were quickly taken in custody on Finlayson's authority, and taken to the Waihi fortress, with their bullocks and and ploughs. There was no sign of an ambuscade, and there were none of the ploughmen who were removed from Livingstone's. Optjnake, July 3. There are no signs of Maoris resuming ploughing. New Plymouth, July 3. It is expected that 34 natives will be arrested and brought to trial. Te Wetere gives unqualified support to the Govern;meht. He and his people are much ansered at Te Whiti's movements. The total number of natives arrested at White Clifi's is 33. Wanganui, July 3. Some of Titokowaru's men started ploughing this morning at Finlayson's,
near Normanby. They are near a treacherous bush cover. Settlers under arms were despatched at five minutes' notice.
