AUSTRALIAN NEWS.

(tf.r WAKATIPU AT WELLINGTON.) Sydney, February 28. A wang of four men, named Thomas Gorman, Charles Jones, William Kay, and William Hobbs, stuck up at Hatfield a store and public-house, CO miles from Balranakl. They were armed with four revolvers, a revolving rifle and a gun, and ordered the people to bail up, saying they they were in the Kelly gang. They took goods of the value of LSO, and two horses, saddles, and bridles, from the District Court bailiff. They fired at the storeman, who escaped, and kept all the rest prisoners four hours. They then left, saying that they would serve Balranakl the same as Jerilderie was served. Early on Saturday they stuck up Fridham, a hawker, near Till-Till, and took L4OO from him, two rings off his fingers, and other jewellery and goods from his waggon. They stuck up the Till-Till station, and took all the arms on the station, and six fresh horses. They marched all hands, numbering 25, to the manager's house, where they kept all bailed up. They were last heard of going in the direction of Woolpagarie. The police are in hot pursuit. The people of Balranald are in great excitement, and only two regular police and one special constable are left there. The gang is well mounted, but all arc very young men, except Gorman, who is leader. There was a large concourse of people present to witness the Governor's departure. The streets were lined with spectators, and a procession of working men proceeded to the Spencer-street terminus. Salutes were fired as the Governor left the Government House.
