The firing at the second range by members of No. 1 Company .for the prizes given from the Company's .funds took place this morning; when seventeen competitors fired. The final competition, that at 500 yards, will be fired on Wednesday next. So far the shooting lias been really grand., and we doubt if any other Company in the Colony could produce so many men capable of making so good an average. Out of the 17 competitors given above, no lus.s than 13 have made an average of over centres. A second squad fired this afternoon, when the scoring was not so good, owing to the gusty wind.
