OTEPOPO ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meetitg of this Board was held yesterday, when there were present— Messrs. Anderson (Chairman), Falconer, A. Marshall, M'Donald, Diehl, G. Marshall, and Darroch. The minutes of the last meeting were adopted as read, and the outward correspondence was read and approved. The following letters were read and considered : From Mr. A. Sim, intimating that he had appointed a man at the Board's expense to look after his sheep owing to the non-erec-tion of his fences on section 44, block VII., and section 5, block VIII.—The Clerk was instructed to reply that the Board had used every endeavor to have the fence erected, and it was now completed. From Mr. J. W. Paterson, re repairing the road between his property and that of Mr. Scott.—The Clerk was directed to repiy that the matter was under consideration. Mr. Darroch moved and Mr. Diehl seconded, "That the Clerk write to Mr. Burnett re the gravelling of the road to the goods shed at the Herbert railway station." —Carried. The Engineer submitted a schedule of the timber required for the footbridges at Breakneck, a copy of which M 7 as ordered to be sent to Mr. Cooper. The following tenders for contract No. 69 were opened :—C. Shine, L 249 6s ; James Hill, L 256 4s; and James Johnston, L 234 16s.—On the motion of Mr. Marshall, seconded by Mr. M'Donald, the lowest tender was accepted. Several accounts were passed for payment, aud the meeting ended.
