(FROM our ows correspondent.) PALMEIISTON. December IS. Last evening was the date of entry for exhibits at the forthcoming Agricultural Show, and the results far exceeded tho expectations of the most sanguine. The entries are fully one-third greater than those of any previous show held under the auspices of the Association, each class being fully represented. Everything points to the show being a great success. CHRISTCHURCH. December 18. At a general mooting of the Canterbury Jockey Club tho autumn programme lias been adopted. It is nearly the same as that of last year. There are no fresh eases of fever on board the quarantine ship Marlborough, and all the patients are fast recovering. Superintendent Weldon inspected the Christchurch Police yesterday. Major Ick was duly installed for Christchurch to-day. At the Fire Brigades Conference yesterday, it was resolved that the Brigades of the North Island be asked to join the Association, so as to make it Colonial, and the first annual meeting will take place in Dunedin in January, ISSO. Superintendent Harris, of Christchurch, has been elected the first President. The Canterbury team for Victoria will leave per Arawata to-day.
