England annexes a portion of Afghanistan. Sydney, December 9. Sir Hercules Robinson has accepted the Governorship of New Zealand. The strikers have mobbed and assaulted the workmen. Extra policemen have been sworn in. The military were called into barracks, and are under arms day and night.
