The following are appointed a Royal Commission to enquire into the condition of higher and secondary education in relation of both to the common school system in the Colony :—Messrs. Cutten, M.H.R., Tole, M.H.R., Ormond, M.H.R., Wallis, M.H.R., Habcns, Inspector-General, Dr. Hector, and Professors Cook and Brown, (Canterbury College), Sale, Shand, and Ulrich, (Otago University), and M'Donald (Rector of Dunediu High School).
