This Company is projected for the purpose of purchasing a site near Oamaru, erecting necessary buildings, buying machinery and plant, and the carrying on of a Woollen Manufacturing Business in all its branches. It is proposed to secure the services of a skilful and reliable agent for the purchase of the most improved and labor-saving machinery. It is believed by the proirioters that the neighborhood of Oamaru is admirably adapted for the commencement of the industry, being conveniently situated for the purchase of the raw material, as also for the disposal of the manufactured article. The promoters, desiring to afford people of small m"ans, as well as capitalists, an opportunity of invest'ng, have determined to make the shares of such an amount as to be within the reaoh of everyone. Tbe call 8 have also been fixed at small amounts, extending over a considerable period. It is thought that this arrangement will afford people within the district an opportunity of assisting to develop an industry which is likely to be of material advantage. As soon as a sufficient number of shares have been applied- for, the purchase of the necessary plant will be proceeded with.
