This Company is formed for two objects : Ist, and" chiefly.—For lending money at current rates of interest upon the security of landed property situated in New Zealand ; and 2nd. —For acquiring:, when deemed advisable, landed property' situated in or near to cities or towns, or centre? of population, in the Colony of New Zealand, and thereafter selling it again in whole or in lots as may suit purchasers. With a fast-increasing population both in town and country, a very tine climate, and land of great fertility opened up by the construction of roads and railways, there is an almost inexhaustible field for the profitable investment of money in the manner proposed by this Company, and it is one very little occur ied. This Company intends to occupy that held, and to offer to the public—particularly to farmer-settlers and the working population generally—facilities for acquiring property, and for erecting houses, or effectother substantial improvements thereon, reasonably moderate terms. And the Company can do so profitably to the shareholders, while at the same time help is given to people who are willing to pay adequately for the advantage and accommodation offered. In no case will money be lent otherwise than upon the security of landed property, ■afe margin being always kept. The system which prevails all over the Colony in the buying of land is that of deferring payment of the price—so much being paid as a deposit when the purchase i 8 made, and the remainder by bills for instalments, spread over a limited period of from one to three years, the title being only granted when the price is fully paid up. This Company, in consequence of being in a position to pay in cash at once, will certainly be able to buy property on much more favorable terms than buyers on deferred payments ; and it is certain that, by the exercise of ordinary cave, a safe and very profitab'e kind of business can be done by buying land and selling again in lots to suit purchasers. It is very well known tha.t companies in New Zealand having objects similar to those of this Company have been able, notwithstanding very limited resources, not only to pay iarge dividends, but also to add to capital. It is not intended to call up more than LI per share, at the outset at least. The promoters consider that, with 10s. per share paid up the Company may make a fair' beginning ; and they confidently anticipate hat besides paying a good dividend to the shareholders, the Directors will also, by judicious investments in landed property, be able from time to time, out of profits, to make additional capital. The turn over of capital will be quick, and there will no doubt be available soon a considerable amount of money from deposits made by people both ab Home and in New Zealand, so that a large paid-up capital is not necessary. Prospectuses, with forms of application for shares, may be obtained at the Office of the Company, or from the bankers at the Wellington Office, or at any of the branches, and the memorandum and articles of association may be seen in the hands of the Secretary. Should no allotment be made, the deposit will be returned without any reduction. Lloyd's Rooms, Brandon-street, Wellington, October, IS7B. FORM OF APPLICATION FOR SHARES.
