Chevalier, last night, after tho alight mishap to tho Zcalaiidia, wrote & letter to the agonts, stating that the occurrence was nothing serious, that tho pilot was in no way blameable, and that the steamer touched the mud through difficulty of slewing round the stern of the vessel against the strong tide. The occurrence merely caused an hour and a half's delay beyond the advertised time for the advertised time for the departure of the steamer. Wellington, October 16.
