FIRE IN TYNE-STREET.
Shortly before 2 o'clock to-day a fourroomed house belonging to Mr. Thomas Procter, and in the occupation of Captain Bishop, was discovered to be on fire. Within a very few minutes the whole of the building was enyeloped in flames, and in a quarter of an hour was entirely destroyed. No idea can be informed as to the origin of the fire. Mrs. Bishop was absent from home at the time, and had been away about two hours. So rapidly did the building burn that not a single article of furniture could be removed. The building was insured in the New Zealand Insurance Company for L2OO, a oheqne for which amount was paid over within half-an-hour of the fire occurring. Mr. Procter estimates the value of the building, outhouses, and fencing destroyed at fully L3OO, The furniture and effects were insured in the Standard Company for L2OO.
