SALE OF WHITSTONE ESTATE.

Mr. A. H. Maude offered for sale yesterday afternoon the Whitstone Estate, the property of the Hon. Robert Campbell. There was a large attendance, and the bidding was very spirited for the portion of the land laid out for the township. The whole of the sections offered were sold, with the exception of two. The township sections, mostly of a quarteracre each, realised from Lll to L 46 5s per quarter-acre. In all 81 sections were disposed of, the total amount realised being L 1421. The balance of the property, which was offered in larger blocks, realised the following prices ; —Lot 4, 10 acres y roods, 28 poles. Mr. H. Allen, L2B per acre; lot 3, 12 aores, Mr. O. Sumpter, L 27 ; lot 2, 12 acres, _Mr. (r. Sumpter, L 27 per acre ; lot 1, IS acres 2 roods 32 poles, Mr. W. Aitken, L2M 10s per acre ; lot 5, 104 acres 2 roods lil poles, Mr. J. Sumptcr, L 43 per acre. The total amount c,2 land said, including the township, was 8.10 acres, and the total amount realised was L 20.281 16s Gd. The two hits (2s T os. I.'i and 14) unsold are open for K;de 1)3" private treaty, and Mr. A. IT. Maude anticipates effecting a sale.
