July 4. At the inquest on the fire which destroyed Nathan's house, the jury found thai: the house was wilfully set on fire by siune unknown person, and added a rider condemning the system of insuring properties to so great an extent as in this instance. as bein.<; a great incentive to incendiarism ; the property being old and rotten could, in their opinion, be replaced for half the amount for which it ■ was insured.
