A desultory conversation took place upon the subject, during which several members expressed themselves strongly with regard to the terms asked by the Corporal ion, and that the items asked were an insult to the intelligence of the Secretary. Eveutually it was decided that the Show Ground Committee, with power to add to their number, should inspect the prices of ground oil'en d by Mr. Holmes as well as any other probable sites; also to report as to the probahlo cost of filling up the la-goon on the present ground. ' It was decided to inform the Municipal Council that, the Society declines to entertain the Council's oiler re the exchange of land. The Committee then proceeded toarrange the programme for the next show. Mr. Gemmell proposed that in future the value of the cups given for the principal prize-takers in each class should bo of tie value of the aggregate prizes won. by him, and not of a fixed value. Mr. Dunlop seconded the motion p>v f.n-iiin. A lengthy discussion took place upon the subject. .Mr. Hedley proposed as an amendment that the cups, as given in the first four eiasses, viz. :— Draught horses, thoroughbred horses, shorthorn cattle, and Ayrshire cattle, should be given again. Mr. Aikunhead seconded the moiion. Mr. Duncan proposed that the value of the. cup for draught horses should bo 30 guineas. Mr. Bromley seconded this. On the motion of Mr. Falconer, tho advisability of having cups was alarmed. Mr. Falconer moved, and Mr. Todd v •oiei?d, that the value of the cup for d:\iughr, stock should be. '2O guineas. On the question being put, Mr. Duncan's motion was carried, and the value of the cup fixed at ,'W guineas. On the motion of Mr. Uonayne, seconded by Mr. Dunlop, the value of the i.'Ujifoi ''loroiiiiiored horses was lixed at. 20 guii, as, instead of lu guineas.
