ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE KVENINO MAIL. Sni—ln your report of the Harbor Board meeting occurs tho following : "The Chairman pointed out that 11 sacks of flour were allowed to tho ton, while it was actually 10 sacks to tho ton." Hitherto I have been under tho impression that this legal imperial ton weighed 2240 pounds avoirdupois weight. 10 sacks of Hour weighs only 2000 pounds, therefore 11 sacks can only be 2200 pounds—--40 pounds less than a legal ton. —I am, &c., Davtb Williams. On.maru, 24th May, 1878.
