(from our own correspondent.) KAKAXUI. April 2. John Wharton, who met with the accident on Saturday last, died at 3 30. p.m. to-day. o DUNEDKn. April 2. Tn the Supreme Court, yesterday, a Maori named Tuara Tamilian>ma, for forgery at Oamaru, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment. The two men Keenan and M'Carthy pleaded guilty to stealing a watch from a man named M'Auley, in Oamnru, on Thursday last, and were each sentenced to six months' imprisonment. The Grand Jury did not find a true bill in the case of Mrs. De Costa, charged with the murder of her infant. The Crown Prosecutor (Mr. Hagfitt) at first proceeded on the Coroner's' inquisition, but, after some argument with Judge Johnston, he decided to let the case drop, and the accused was th erefore d isch arged.
