Single pictures Ranged at from L 3 to LS 15s, and patrs from 5 guineas to 11 suineas. - A quantity of furniture and sundries was afterwards submitted, and realised fair rates. Messrs. Beowx, Suttox & Co. report having sold, on the premises on Saturday, the 30th inst., on- account of "Mr. ™. J. Smith, freehold section 11, block So, with six-roomed house thereon; also. Corporation lease of section 10 adjoining. After brisk competition; the lot was knocked down toMr T.Morris for L 555. The household furniture realised very satisfactory prices.
STOCK REPORT.
Messrs. Cornell and .Clowes report for the month ending 30th March : Fat Cattle—lr fair supply ; prime beef is worth 26s to 17s 6d, second quality, 2os per 100 lbs Fat Sheep—Owing to the harvest the demand during the month has been steady. Our sales were on account of Messrs. J. ami S Wilson and Cameron and Hunter-1200 crossbreds at equal to 1M per lb ; and on account of Messrs. J. and A. M'Lean and Si. and Douglas 1900 and 1000 merino wethers at 5s and 6s respectively, or equal -°Store P Cattle—The demand is brisk, but few are offering. We will offer about t0 head at Boundary Creek at an early date. We quote grown steers, Lb to Li 10s; mixed mob, L 4 to L 5. . , Store Sheep—The demand daring the month has been uncommonly good, and a large business has been the result. Uar sales were on account of Messrs. J. and A. M'Lean, Waikati, 6100 merino ewes (culls), and 3000 full mouthed merino wethers ; Mr William Grant, Temuka, 4500 full mouthed merino ewes : Messrs. Parker Bros., Elephant Frill 10M> full mouthed merino ewes and 700 two and four tooth do.; W. H. Teschemaker, Esq., Kouroo. 1900 cull merino ewes: N Z and A. Loan Co., Knran, 4000 cull merino ewes; and D. Sutherland, Esq., 4000 do do. , .. We quote merino ewes CulJs, lull, broken, 2a 6d ; do full, none broken, 3s Gd to 4s 3d ; two and four tooth do, 63 6(1 to 7a: merino wethers, full, none broken, 3s (>d to 4s ; crossbreds, two-tooth, 6s (>d; four and six tooth, 7s SA to Ss ; full-mouthed do ewes, 6a 6d to 7s; do lambs, os 3d to The demand for two. four, and six tooth crossbred*, and for sound merino ewes is still great.
LONDON WOOL MARKET.
Messrs. Car*nets, Gcrrs*. and Co. have received the following telegram from Messrs. Helmnth,Sehwartze, and Co., dated London, 2fith March:—"Since onr last telegram there is no change for the bulk of wools ; the good demand for wools of breed and quality maintains itself; prices for good scoured are rather lower : prices for inferior heavy and faulty grease are m favor ot buyers. The tone of the market is hesitating." ___^_—
