(PER ROTORUA, AT AUCKLAND.) Chalmers reports i hat after March 8, the South Cape party l.ad an anxious time. "The natives were very threatening, but the friendly villagers prevented the others attacking tiiem. C aimers left his wife at South Cape. There were no other Europeans there. M'Goui master relieves Captain Xedreks.
The beche-de-mer party is reported to have been killed by the natives at the Engineer Group. The vessel was burnt and the station ransacked.
