DISTRICT PRIZE FIRING.
Those members of No. 1 Company who competed this morning for the district prizes were favoured with very excellent weather for rifle shooting, though at times the wind was a little puffy and the light rather difficult at the two first ranges owing to the direction in which the sun shone on to the target. Captain Morton, of the Artillery Volunteers, was in charge of the firing party. Some of the finest shooting ever seen at the range was made. The ranges were 200, 400, and GOO yards, with live shots at each. The following are the scores :
