Messrs. Maclean Brothers sold yesterday, at the rooms pf Messrs. M'Lan dress, Hepburn, and Co., instructed by Mr. W. Heoburn, the Brooklands Estate, situated between Palnierston and W aikonaiti. The property was disposed of in lots, ranging from 10 to 100 acres, and realised L1f.876, or LSI per a^re. Mr. J. L. Bnttevwoith lias resigned his seat oil the Waste Lands Board. Mr. Prvde lias been appointed interim. Secretary to the Education Boasd, at Ll2O a year.
The weather to-day is gloriously fine. A general regret is expressed that the Australians did not stay in Dunedin till this evening, in order to conclude the match.
