AUCKLAND. December 1. Mr. Crispe, an old settler at Mauku, is dead.
Mr. Hurst, the retiring Mayor, before his departure per mail steamer, was presented with a farewell address and massive silver centrepiece. Mr. Trunhall, a Mangawai settler, was thrown on the race-course to-day, His jaw was much damaged, and several teeth were knocked out. He was taken to the Hospital insensible.
