(F5.051 OUR OWN COKIiK:-,fOXDEMTS.) PORT CHALMERS. November 21. The New Zealand Company's ship Waipa 1 a-i arrived, after a passage of 86 days from Plymouth. She brings 7 saloon and
212 steerage passengers (immigrants). There are five cases of scarlet fever, and two of whooping cough on board. Two deaths of infaiKs have occurred from congestion, supervening upon whooping cough. T:ne ship has been placea in quarantine. The passengers are to be sent to Quarantine Island. DUNEDIN. November 21. The ship Wa : pa has been quarantined owing to having scarlet fever on board, and is likely to remain in quarantine for a month. The fever is of a very mild type. HAMPDEN. November 21. Three cases of sly-grog-selling were heard in the Resident Magistrate's Court here to-day. George Poison, of Port Moeraki, against whom there were two cases, was lined L2G ; and David Miuiro, of the Junction Refreshment Rooms, on a single charge, was fined Lls
