LATEoT WAR NEWS. ' London, October 27
A Russian official despatch states that the Russian loss at the battle on the loth was 1431. They are marching on Erzeronm.
Ismail is retreating, and Tergokoroff following.
Mukhtar Pasha is reinforced and en--1 re: ichctl. The Russians were attacked and defeated at Bezimoke on the 23rd. The Roumanian loss at Gravifcza was 900.
Suleiman Pasha's main bod}' is falling b.-ck upon Rasgrad. The Russians at Karlaha<?san and Rustchuk have been repulsed, and were compelled to fall back on an entrenchment at Purgos. The Russians attacked the Turkish right at Kaclikoi and left. After a partial success they were defeated, and fell back. There has been vigorous bombarding at Schipka Pass. The Russian batteries were silenced.
A Russia! official despatch states that there was ten hours' lighting on the 21th. Gourka has captured, with heavy loss, redoubt on the Sophia road, and four guns ; many officers, 3000 infantry, and a regiment of cavalry were taken prisoners. The St. Petersburgh papers state that negotiations for the capitulation of Kars
has been commenced. A Turkish official despatch confirms the report. Ismail Pasha and Mukhtar Pasha.are occupying a strong position at Koprikoi.
GENERAL NEWS. Loxoox, October 27. A colliery explosion occurred at Blantyre, by which 219 miners perished.

The question of payment of members is occupying the attention of both branches of the Leg stature. A conflict between the two Chambers is probable.
Chester is a 'firm favourite for the Da-by at 7 to 4 ; First King, 4 to 1 ; 10 to 1 being offered about any of the others. Woodlands and Savanaka are the favourites for the Cup, Haricot being next in demand. Woodlands has been scratched for the Derby.
