[FROM OUR OW r N CORRESPONDENTS. ] * DUNEDIN. IMPORTANT MEETING OF ARTISANS. July 21. An important meeting of artisans and others interested in the iron trade was held last evening. Fully 1000 persons were present. Great interest was evinced in the proceedings. Resolutions desiring Government to cause the manufacture of rolling stock in the Colony, and to give employment to many iron workers now out of employment, were carried unanimously. The land revenue collected during the quarter ended 30th June amounted to L 16,681. Of this L 14,557 was paid for town and rui'al lands. Only 50 feet of the Deborah Bay tunnel remain to be pierced, and as the work is being pushed on with vigour, it is expected that it will be drilled through by the latter end of next week. A good deal of interest is taken in the city Mayoralty. It will be a close contest between Leary and Woodland,
