Mr. Buckland reports : —Fat cattle, in average supply, medium, 23s to 25s ; choice, 28s to 30s ; fat wethers, average prices, 2M to 2|d, live weight. Grown steers, L 4 5s to L 7. Caledonian shares rose LI, in consequence of striking gold in the New Reef. Sales—Ls 2s ; Moanatains, L 6 15s ; Buyers—Bank of New Zealand, L 22 5s ; National, 31s ; Sellers—South British, 80s.
